Jenny's Heritage Quilt

I saw in April a book by Jenny Haskins called "Jenny's Heritage" and I knew that I just had to make one for me. So I bought some gorgeous fabric from Accent Sewing in South Carolina for the borders (I think it was called Creme de la Creme); for the rest I used cream and white silks and cottons from my own stash.

Here is the entire quilt - 16 blocks, all different. I had completed it in June 09, and I proudly looked at the work after putting the binding on, and I noticed that the block 4 and 16 were swapped!! Oh well, as the Amish say, each quilt must have an error - just wonder if it is meant to be so obvious... But I do still think it is gorgeus!

"Under the North Star" Quilt

I made this quilt for a Scandinavian Quilt Show. It was on display with another 36 logcabin quilts from Finland. I designed this using the Bernina artista Quilter software and all blocks except the house are done with a logcabin block. I almost missed the whole deadline, so had to put this entire quilt together in a hurry; I noticed in early April that it had to be sent by end of April, and we were still in the USA, so had to leave up to 10 days for posting, but I made it! Just got the quilt back couple weeks ago - it seems to want to travel, since after being in display in Gothenburg, Sweden, it travelled to Finland, went accidentally to Helsinki, went back to the sender, and then finally found back home. But now I need to find a place to hang it...

Baby clothes

I made these little outfits for my niece's twins for their 1st birthday. The set includes a hat, dress and panties. The dress on the left is pictured from front and the one on the right is from back.

Tea Towels

Tea towels are so fun and quick to make - somehow I never end up using these, but they do look pretty even on the sewing room wall. This is a selection of three teatowels made of linen and embellished with embroidery, lace, and madeira applique.

More serger projects

Oh, yes, this is a real silly thing... but I saw the instructions in the web and had to make a basket using a serger. But have to remember that I used to work at The Longaberger Company, so I do love baskets... in any form...
